Yocona International Folk Festival returns to Powerhouse, Ford Center
OXFORD TOWN – Visitors can immerse themselves in the sights, sounds and tastes from all over the world as a multitude of diverse cultures, languages, food, and musical performances collide at the sixth annual Yocona International Folk Festival. Page 7 in Oxford Town No. 991 has details about this year’s festival that officially begins with a kickoff event to be held in Oxford on Saturday, Aug. 11. The event — International Marketplace Day — is set for the Powerhouse Community Arts Center beginning at 10 a.m. featuring tons of music, food, drink, dance and handicrafts from Peru, Egypt and other places.
