    Ladies’ Spring Brunch

    Chirst Presbyterian Church is hosting a Ladies’ Spring Brunch on Wednesday, April 21, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the church fellowship hall. Bette Morgan will be the guest speaker. Her topic will be titled, “Reflecting and Renewing.” All local ladies are invited. (April 6, 2010)

      Managing Your Credit In Tough Economic Times

      A panel of experts will be on hand to answer questions regarding household budgeting, personal credit issues, home-buying and avoiding bankruptcy, Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center.         The Blackjack Connection

        Gospel-country pickers are learning from each other as they gather on Mondays for informal jam sessions. Blackjack Connection, named after the host site, was created about 10 years ago by Bobby Phelps and now includes a wide variety of people from the community who gather for music, fun and fellowship. (April 2, 2010, Page 1B)

            Mississippi Clarinet Day

            The University of Mississippi Department of Music hosts featured guest artist is Frank Kowalsky, professor of clarinet at Florida State University, offering a free recital at noon Monday in the Ford Center. All members of the community are invited to attend. Additional clarinet events include performances by clarinet ensembles at the Ole Miss Student Union at 3 p.m. Students from universities and high schools across the region will be coming to Oxford to attend this clarinet event. (March 31, 2010)

                  Tim Meadows at the Ford Center

                  The University of Mississippi Student Programming Board and Department of Campus Programming present former Saturday Night Live cast member Tim Meadows at the Ford Center. Meadows starred in The Ladies Man and is a regular on The Colbert Report. Tickets are available at the UM Box Office in the Student Union, $10 for UM students and $15 for the public. (March 26, 2010)

                    NASA Night in Your Neighborhood

                    Representatives from NASA’s John C. Stennis Space Center will visit the Powerhouse Community Arts Center Monday from 5-7 p.m. with free activities and displays. The group will do a presentation on living and working in space, as well as educational activities and an astronaut ice-cream-tasting station. (March 26, 2010, Page 2B)
