Julia and Robert Aubrey will audition children from ages 8 – 13 for chorus roles in the Oxford Shakespeare Festival’s production of The King and I. Auditions will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon in Nutt Auditorium on Saturday, March 27.
Children are asked to prepare a short song and be dressed comfortably to participate in music and theatre games. If needed, callbacks will start at 1 that afternoon.
There are two leading roles for boys ages 10 – 14, as Louis and the Prince. These characters sing and have spoken dialogue in the musical.

Pianist Washington Garcia is set to perform as a special guest artist March 9 at the University of Mississippi. Bozarts Gallery at 403 Main Street in Water Valley hosts “Long Time Coming,” featuring the work of Cynthia Buob, Adrienne Brown-David and Katherine Strause, March 5-April 3.
The exhibit commemorates the Civil Rights Act of March 1964 which outlawed segregation. The show features many images and themes related to and inspired by civil rights struggles in the South and African-American life, past and present. Tao, a Japanese dance-and-drum ensemble that incorporates explosive percussion with tight choreography and martial arts moves, will perform at the University of Mississippi this week. “Tao, The Martial Art of Drumming,” comes to the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts for a performance at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
