  • Thomas Eddie “Tony” Gordon — 40, died Friday, June 10, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Tallahatchi Oxford Missionary Baptist Association. Serenity-Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
  • Charlie Earnest “Charlie” Payne — 81, died Sunday, June 12, 2011, at Community Hospice at Darlington Oaks in Verona. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park.

      • Bernice Joiner-Paten — 71, died Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Services will be held at noon Friday at the Serenity-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford. Burial will follow in the Harrisonville M.B. Church cemetery. Visitation will be held until 6:30 this evening, with family present from 5 to 6:30, at the funeral home.
      • Barbara L. Walker-Jones — 43, died Thursday, June 2, 2011, at her residence in Southaven. Services will be held at noon Saturday at Mt. Level M.B. Church in Como. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at New Greater Light Church in Sardis. Hodges-Freeman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.
