  • David “Moon” L. Mullen — 94, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Services will be held at noon Tuesday in the chapel of the Waller Funeral Home in Oxford. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service.
  • Milton Thomas “Tom” Person III — 44, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Graveside services were held Saturday at the Odd Fellows Mausoleum. Wilson & Knight Funeral Home of Greenwood was in charge of arrangements.

      • Michael Kevin Lemmons — 46, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, at the VA Medical Center in Memphis. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Coleman Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford. Burial will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery in Sharon, Tenn. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
      • Linda Morgan — 49, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Spring Hill North Church in Water Valley. Burial will take place in the Oak Grove Church Cemetery in Yalobusha County.             • Kenneth M. Hayward — 81, died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at his home in Oxford. Services will be held at 1 this afternoon at First Presbyterian Church in Oxford.             • Lewis Albert Joy — 62, died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi Oxford. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Water Valley. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

              Strut Your Mutt

              The annual Strut Your Mutt dog walk to benefit the Oxford-Lafayette Humane Society will be held Sunday in Oxford and on the Ole Miss campus. The fee to “strut your mutt” is $25, which includes refreshments (for the four-legged walkers, too) and official T-shirts for the fundraiser. Registration will be held on the Oxford Square from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Sunday with the walk between 2 and 4 p.m. The walk from the Lafayette County Courthouse lawn will include a stroll through the Grove and other parts of the Ole Miss campus.

              Participants can also raise more money and compete for prizes by getting pledges and donations. A form is available at the OLHS website, www.oxfordpets.com.                 Double Decker Bus Tour

                A Double Decker Bus Tour will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday. Guide and historian Jack Mayfield will give visitors and residents an up close look at historic points of interest, including North and South Lamar, St. Peter’s Cemetery and Rowan Oak, and the University of Mississippi campus, while riding on the Double Decker bus. In addition to the driving tour, the bus will stop to tour two historic homes: the L.Q.C. Lamar House and Cedar Oaks Mansion. The tour departs from Skipwith Cottage, on the Square next door to Oxford City Hall. Space is limited. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children and includes admission into both homes.                   Holiday House

                  The annual Holiday House, sponsored by the Mississippi Homemaker Volunteers, returns this weekend. The event has been held for more than 30 years in Oxford. The Holiday House will be held until 6 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Arts and crafts booths will be set up and entertainment and demonstrations will be features, along with a silent auction to benefit the National Guard Family Support Group. Toys will also be collected for Santa’s Toy Box. About 20 vendors have already signed up to sell a range of items from jewelry and quilts to woodworks and home canned goods.                     • Edward “Wayside” Westbrook — 52, died Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, in Memphis. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hurricane Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Oxford. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Beulah McEwen of Oxford. N.J. Ford & Sons Funeral Home of Memphis is in charge of arrangements.
                    • William “Trotter” McEwen — 80, formerly of Oxford, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011. Services will be held Monday in Detroit.
