    Faulkner inspires art project, battles blight

    A Leadership Lafayette group is using original art pieces, inspired by writer William Faulkner, as part of an effort to make Faulkner Alley on the Square more attractive to visitors and to discourage vandals. Burial will follow in Abbeville Cemetery. Visitation will be held for an hour and half prior to the services at the funeral home.
      • Lawrence Mitchell — 91, died Sunday, July 1, 2012, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Hope MB Church. Burial will follow in Yocona Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

            • Coty Lee Hensley — 11, died Friday, June 29, 2012, at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Coleman Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford. Burial will follow in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 this evening at the funeral home.
            • James Burlin Hollowell Sr. — 71, died Sunday, July 1, 2012, in Oxford. Services will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Coleman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pine Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held for four hours prior the service at the funeral home.
            • Lawrence Mitchell — 91, died Sunday at the Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi. Arrangements are incomplete with Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc.
