    • Robert James Clark — 82, died Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Clear Creek MB Church. Burial will follow in Harrisonville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at Harrisonville MB Church. Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
    • Coria Lee Polk — 68, died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at her daughter’s home in Oxford. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Askew Grove MB Church in Longtown. Burial will follow in Askew Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Friday at Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Sardis.

Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

          • Montell Rice Meacham — 94, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at his home near Oxford. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford was in charge of local arrangements.
          • Jack D. Neth — 73, died Friday, May 18, 2012, at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford. Services will be held at 2:30 this afternoon in the chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, with the Rev. Joel Jones and Hal Johnson officiating. A private family burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery near Sardis. Visitation will be held for an hour a half prior to the service at the funeral home.
          • Coria Lee Polk — 68, died Saturday at her daughter’s home in Oxford. Arrangements are incomplete with Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Sardis.
          • Samuel Goza Pumphrey — 84, died Friday, May 18, 2012, at his home in Oxford. Services were held Sunday at the Waller Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford, with the Rev. John Kramer officiating. Burial followed in the Oxford Memorial Cemetery.
          • Warren Benjamin “Buzzie” Seely Jr. — 78, died Friday, May 18, 2012, at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson. A mass of Christian burial was held this morning at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church. Heritage Funeral Home in Moss Point-Escatawpa was in charge of arrangements.

            • Eddie Gerald Stanford — 47, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Coleman Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford. Burial will follow in the New El Bethel Cemetery, 575 Hwy. 331, Oxford. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

                • William David Morgan — 89, died Monday, May 14, 2012, at University Hospital in Jackson. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Charleston. Burial will follow at the Charleston City Cemetery. Visitation will be held for an hour and half prior to the service at the church. Seven Oaks Funeral Home of Water Valley is in charge of arrangements.
                • Dr. William “Bill” H. Norman — 97, died Thursday, May 10, 2012. Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

                    Faulkner’s popularity extends beyond books

                    COMPLETE STORY — Fifty years after the death of Williams Faulkner, the Oxford writer’s work continues to be popularity. The Modern Library is reissuing six of his books this year and Hollywood is showing renewed interest in transferring his work from the page to the screen.
