    • Roy “Cotton” Carnahan — 93, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at his son’s home in Nixa, Mo. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home in Oxford. Visitation will be held for an hour and a half prior to the service at the funeral home.

        • Tommy F. Abraham Sr. — 87, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Community Hospice in Verona. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Clarksdale. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service at the church. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale is in charge of arrangements.
        • Dorothy True — 100, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Hermitage Gardens in Oxford. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Church Cemetery in Yalobusha County. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

          •  Lt. Col. John Rutherford Fawcett Jr. — 94, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at his home. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. A private interment will be held at the National Cemetery in Beaufort, S.C. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 this evening at the home of Deans and Peter Fawcett in Columbia. The family will also receive friends following the service at the same home. Dunbar Funeral Home in Columbia is in charge of arrangements.

            • Roy D. Melton — 71, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center, Batesville. Services were held Saturday at the First United Pentecostal Church in Batesville. Burial followed in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Batesville.

              • Hazel Joyce Hoffman Kinney — 80, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at Hermitage Gardens in Oxford. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Oxford-University United Methodist Church in Oxford. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery in Oxford. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Waller Funeral Home.
              • Paul Lincoln Parker — 98, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at his home in Water Valley. Services will be held at 2 this afternoon at First Baptist Church of Water Valley. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Seven Oaks Funeral Home of Water Valley is in charge of arrangements.
              • James Richard Webb — 65, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Services will be held at noon Saturday at New Sardis Baptist Church in Memphis, with burial to follow at West Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery, in Memphis. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at M.J. Edwards Funeral Chapel in Memphis.
                • Margie B. Ellington — 100, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Forest Hill South Funeral Home in Memphis. Burial will follow in Forest Hill South Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
                • Hazel Hoffman Kinney — 80, died this morning at Hermitage Gardens in Oxford. Arrangements are incomplete with Waller Funeral Home in Oxford.
                • Jerry Lewis Mathis — 54, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at his residence in Oxford. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at North Oxford Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
                • Charles Wesley Tolliver — 84, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at the University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Services will be held at noon Saturday at Bayson Chapel M.B. Church in Water Valley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serenity-Daniels Funeral Home of Water Valley is in charge of arrangements.
