Ventress Hall on the campus of the University of Mississippi is one of UM’s most uniquely designed buildings. While it serves as the home of the College of Liberal Arts, it also contains some historic graffiti. (February 15, 2015, Page 1A)

      • Frederick Hilliard — 43, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at Methodist Charlton Hospital in Cedar Hill, Texas. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Tallahatchie Oxford Missionary Baptist Association building in Oxford. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Hodges Funeral Home in Oxford.
      • Ronald O’Neal — 62, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, in Cahokia, Ill. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Pontotoc Second Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pontotoc City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday in the Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc.
      • Bennie W. Stehr — 88, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, at Grace Living Center in Clinton, Oklahoma. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Tula Cemetery in Lafayette County. Coleman Funeral Home in Oxford is in charge of local arrangements.

            This week in Oxford history – Yesterday’s Papers

            This week marks the anniversary of one of the worst ice storms in Oxford’s history as well as the week back in 1945 when the movie “To Have and Have Not” premiered in Oxford. The movie was notable because it featured a screenplay written by one of its own — William Faulkner. (February 11, 2015, Page 1A)

              ‘Addams Family takes the stage

              The Oxford High School Drama Department will stage “The Addams Family” at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Kayla Mize Auditorium at the Oxford Middle School. General admission tickets for the musical are now available at OHS for $10 for adults and $5 for all students.
