Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Oxford Church of Christ, with Lendy Bartlett and Doug Shields Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 until 6 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home.
  • Bertha L. Sisk — 91, of Oxford died Thursday. Arrangements are incomplete with Serenity-Martin Funeral Home.

          • Martha Virginia Kilgore Busby — 89, died Friday, April 1, 2011, at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo. Services were held this morning at Philadelphia Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Philadelphia Cemetery. United Funeral Service in New Albany was in charge of arrangements.
          • Rita Colley Weaver — 87, died Friday, April 1, 2011, at Yalobusha General Nursing Home in Water Valley. Services were held Sunday in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home in Oxford. A graveside service was held this morning at Forest Hill Cemetery South in Memphis.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Forest Hill Cemetery South in Memphis. Visitation will be Sunday for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

                Fish Fry Fundraiser

                Joyful Generation of Anchor Baptist Church will hold its annual fish fry and auction from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, with the live auction beginning at 5:30. Plates are available for an $8 donation and includes fish, fries, slaw, dessert and drink. Carry-outs will be available. Items being auctioned off will include a handmade quilt, a signed football and baseball, household items and gift cards. Door prizes will be given out every 15 minutes. Homemade cakes and pies will also be available to purchase. The church is located on Highway 7 South in Water Valley. (March 31, 2011)

                  • Bernice Easley Embry — 96, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at the Calhoun Health Services Nursing Home in Calhoun City. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce, with Elder Herman Clark and son Robert Embry officiating. Burial will follow in the Bruce Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
                  • Randle “Randy” O’Neal Johnson — 38, died Friday, March 25, 2010. Services will be held at noon Saturday at Clear Creek M.B. Church, with the Rev. Bobby Hall officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope M.B. Church in Oxford. Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 7 p.m. at Serenity-Martin Funeral Home, with family present from 5 to 7.
