OHS-Starkville series has been pretty intense

COLUMN: Ole Miss and Mississippi State will meet each other in their annual three-game series later this week at Oxford-University Stadium. But before the Rebels and Bulldogs lock up Friday night, the two high school baseball teams from each city will play a third and decisive game tonight at O-U Stadium. Fitting huh?       Pregame scuffle fuels Oxford’s win

      STARKVILLE — Extra motivation wasn’t needed from the Oxford Chargers heading into Game 2 of their MHSAA Class 5A series with the Starkville Yellowjackets at Carlisle Field Thursday night.         Confident Blue Devils ready for ‘Cats

            Jackets top Chargers 6-5 at home

            The momentum gained by the Oxford Chargers with two impressive wins over the weekend came to an abrupt halt Tuesday at Edwin Moak Field. Oxford failed to score with the bases loaded three times in the first game of its best-of-three MHSAA Class 5A playoff series with Starkville and the end result was a 6-5 setback.                 Oxford teams win Region 1-5A titles

                Region 1-5A track titles were awarded to both the Oxford Chargers and Lady Chargers Monday night at Bobby Holcomb Field. The Chargers defeated Center Hill to capture the title thanks to a point total of 196, while the Lady Chargers almost doubled New Hope (185-96) to win their title.  (more…) (April 30, 2013, Page 8)

                  Chargers move up 5A series with Starkville

                  There won’t be an extra few days to bask in a strong finish to the regular season for the Oxford Chargers.
