Oxford Park Commission offers free activity day

The OPC is now offering a free activity day for children 1 to 5 on Friday’s from 10 a.m. to noon in the beginner level gymnastics room. Parents must have a photo ID from the Oxford Activity Center. (January 24, 2014, Page 1A)

      County gets grant for diving equipment

      The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department recently received a $16,900 grant to purchase diving equipment. The grant was spurred by the disappearance of a teen in the Yocona River last year in which the sheriff’s department was required to borrow divers and diving equipment from neighboring counties. (January 22, 2014, Page 1)

        MLK’s life still inspires others

        The local 2014 MLK Day of Service was hosted Monday at the Jackson Avenue Center. Over 50 people volunteered for the event and another 50 signed up for services around the community. (January 21, 2014, Page 1)

            LHS hosts robotics qualifying rounds
