Kids’ health fair returns

Baptist Memorial Hospital North Mississippi will host its annual children’s health fair August 23. Excel by 5 Coalition will be co-sponsoring the event and will have several booths dedicated to the wellbeing of children. (August 18, 2014, Page 1)

          A ‘step’ toward legal marriage

          Three Lafayette County same-sex couples recorded their marriage licenses at the Chancery building on Wednesday. Having the license on file does not mean that the couples marriages are recognized in Mississippi but that they are on file for copy records. This was a part of the ‘We do’ campaign in which 17 couples across the state requested their marriage license be documented. (August 14, 2014, Page 1)

            City, county officials sign Better Schools petition

                County cuts budget requests

                The Lafayette County Board of Supervisors discussed cutting several departmental budget requests Friday at the budget meeting. The next scheduled meeting is Tuesday at 8 a.m. (August 11, 2014, Page 1)

                    Private road confused with county road

                    A Lafayette county citizen brought to attention his private road that is being ransacked with those following GPS routes or avoiding roadblocks at the Lafayette County Board of Supervisors meeting Monday.
