    Oxford Drawdown returns Friday

    St. John’s Evangelist Church is holding their fourth annual Drawdown event in which $10,000 is up for grabs. Tickets are available for purchase and all access funds will go to the Clayton Stevens fund which contributes to numerous charities and assists locals in need. (May 14, 2014, Page 3)

        LES student receives surprise visit

        U.S. Air Force F16 technician mechanic Kenneth Applewhite has been stationed in South Korea since September 2013 and has not seen his son,  Lafayette Elementary School student Gavin Applewhite, since that time. However, Gavin was the recipient of a very special surprise during lunch Thursday afternoon. (May 9, 2014, Page 1A)

          Students to protest Bryant’s speech

          As gowns are ironed, tassels are untangled and graduates get ready for their big walk across the stage, some University of Mississippi students will be donning their own fashionable pieces of graduation attire as they have chosen to participate in a peaceful protest against Gov. Phil Bryant’s speech to the 3,650 graduates during the commencement ceremony at 9 a.m. Saturday in the Grove on campus. (May 9, 2014, Page 1A)

            OSD to change bus routes

            The Oxford School District recently voted to approve separating elementary school children from older children with new bus routes. The change will be set forth in August 2014. (May 8, 2014, Page 1)
