    Greer drives Devils to win over Aggies

      Big innings lead WVHS past Tigers

      WINONA — Water Valley coach Kary Bridges wanted his team to “add on” heading into the final inning against Winona on Saturday afternoon.

        Blue Devils take Game 1 from Tigers

                Wins move ‘Dores closer to spot in 4A playoffs

                The Lafayette High School baseball team moved one step closer to locking up a playoff spot with a pair of wins against Rosa Fort on Tuesday evening. The Commodores (10-10 overall, 5-3 Region 2-4A) knocked off the Lions 15-0 and 12-0 in two run-ruled shortened games at W.V. Brewer Field. (April 11, 2012, Page 9)

                    Murphree, Stanley ‘lift up’ LHS in win

                    It took 13 games for the Lafayette High School baseball team to record its first home run of the 2012 season, proving the old adage of good things come to those who wait.

                    John Murphree broke a 2-2 tie in the fourth inning when he belted an offering from New Albany pitcher Ben Foster over the left field fence for a two-run home run to put the ‘Dores ahead 4-2 in what would turn out to be a 7-2 win over the Division 2-4A rival Bulldogs at W.V.
