Simpson brings “Metamodern Sounds in Country Music” to town

Sturgill Simpson, the 2014 Americana Music Awards Emerging Artist of the Year, will perform at Proud Larry’s on Tuesday night (Nov. 11). Doors open at 8 and Cris Jacobs will kick off the night around 9. Tickets, which are $13 ($15 day of show), may be purchased at www.proudlarrys.com or at the door (if available). Simpson is touring in support of his second album, “Metamodern Sounds in Country Music,” of which Rolling Stone said, “Sounds like: Merle Haggard with a stack of books on cosmology and metaphysics.” (more…) (November 6, 2014, Page 1-3B)
