The Oxford Choral Patrons will hold its second annual yard sale and bake sale from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 8 in front of the Oxford High School, 222 Bramlett Blvd. The yard sale will include household items, furniture, baby supplies, clothing and much more. Anyone interested in donating toward the yard sale or bake sale can drop off items at OHS between 6 and 8 p.m. Oct. 7. Proceeds will support OHS Choral activities during 2011-12. The fourth annual Business & Industry Appreciation Golf Classic will be held Oct. 7 at the Country Club of Oxford. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m., but new this year will be a breakfast that will be serve before the tournament. The tournament offers an opportunity to network with others in the business community as well as win prizes.
Breakfast will be served during the registration. A shotgun start follows at 9. Lunch will be served during play. Format for the tournament will be Best Ball Foursome. Participants will enjoy breakfast, lunch, 18 holes of golf, a golf cart, complimentary Micro Fiber Golf Towel, flighted play, chances to win door prizes as well as a chance to win a car.

The Oxford School District orchestra students will present a Fall Concert at 7 p.m. Monday in Paris-Yates Chapel on the UM campus. Strings students in grades 6-12 will perform several selections for their first concert this school year. Students will be featured in large ensembles and in smaller chamber groups. A barbecue dinner and silent auction benefit will be held Oct. 8 for Barbara Hankins, who is battling lung cancer. Dinner plates will be available for eat-in or take-out and will cost $10 each. The Ravine restaurant will host a fundraiser for Oxford Interfaith Compassion Ministry’s programs for the prevention of homelessness from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. The event, The Rendezvous at Ravine, will be a day of outdoor fun, featuring live music, an artists’ market and festival food with a special flair. Donation for admission is optional. Free shuttle buses leave for the Ravine from the Mississippi Department of Transportation parking lot near the University of Mississippi at Highway 6 and Old Taylor Road, every 10 minutes beginning at 11:45 a.m. No parking will be available at the site.
