About our publications
The Oxford EAGLE was founded in 1867. The most award-winning daily paper of its size in the state of Mississippi, The EAGLE publishes Monday through Friday. It has a paid circulation of 6,000 subscribers and an estimated readership of more than 15,000.
Weekly sections include Business, Education, Celebrations, Eating Well, Good Health and Oxford Living. Oxford Town, a weekly arts-and-entertainment guide, has an estimated readership of 18,750. It is inserted in The EAGLE each Thursday and distributed for free at some 60 locations around town and on campus, including restaurants and bars, coffee shops and convenience stores. The Town’s biggest annual editions are for the Double Decker Arts Festival in April and “Welcome Back Rebels” in August.
The LafaShopper News, published each Tuesday, is delivered to every mailbox in Lafayette County for an estimated readership of 39,605. It was established in 1975 and features news from columnists in the county’s rural communities, as well as inserted advertising designed to reach the broadest segment of the local population.
The Home Market Guide is the go-to source for homebuyers in and around Oxford. Working with the North Central Mississippi Board of Realtors — of which The EAGLE is an affiliate member — our staff prepares each month’s collection of sample listings through which homebuyers can browse. The Home Market Guide is inserted into The EAGLE on the first Friday of each month and is also distributed in some 50 locations around town.
