Students planning to attend Ole Miss’ National Invitation Tournament game against Georgia Tech on Tuesday at The Pavilion have a chance to get in free thanks to head coach Andy Kennedy.
Kennedy is footing the bill for 1,000 student tickets to the quarterfinal game, which will tip at 8 p.m. The free tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-serve basis starting at 6:30 p.m. at the north entrance to The Pavilion.
Reserved tickets in the mezzanine level are still available for $12 each. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
Ole Miss (22-13) is in the NIT quarterfinals for the first time since 2010 when the Rebels advanced to the tournament’s Final Four. Tuesday’s winner will advance to the semifinals March 28 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
The fifth-seeded Rebels knocked off Monmouth in their tournament opener before upsetting top-seeded Syracuse at the Carrier Dome on Saturday. Georgia Tech (19-15), a 6 seed, beat Indiana in the first round and defeated Belmont on Sunday.
