The Pontotoc Police Department is investigating the death of a woman found behind the Pontotoc Salvation Army Thrift Store on Reynolds Street.
The woman was discovered by Salvation Army employees at about 3 p.m. The identity of the woman was unknown. The body was sent to Jackson for an autopsy to determine the cause of death and positive identification, according to the PPD.
Lisa Coleman, divisional service center director, said she could not give any more details about the incident.
“I just ask that you pray for this woman’s family and for my staff who found her,” Coleman said Monday. “It is still under investigation and I am not at liberty to share any more information.”
