Tuesday’s obituaries

  • Elge Flemons — 60, died this morning at his residence in Oxford. Arrangements are incomplete with Hodges-Freeman Funeral Home in Oxford.
  • James R. Leister — 74, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at North Oxford Baptist Church in Oxford. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery in Oxford. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Waller Funeral Home.
  • Florida Bell Martin Marion — 77, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at her home in Waterford. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Holly Springs. Burial will follow in the Hamilton Chapel CME Church cemetery in Waterford. The remains will lie in repose at J.F. Brittenum & Son Funeral Home in Holly Springs on Friday from 1-7 p.m. with the family visit from 6-7. The remains will lie in state at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness on Saturday from 10-10:55 a.m.
  • Barbara Bailey Massey — 70, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at her home in Oxford. Visitation will be held Thursday beginning at 5 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held immediately following the visitation at 6. In addition to services here in Oxford, a visitation will be held at Raymond United Methodist Church of Raymond on Saturday at 10 a.m. A memorial service will follow at the church at 11.
  • Jerry Mathis — 54, died Monday at his residence in Oxford. Arrangements are incomplete with Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc.
  • Frances Blount Molpus — 97, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at St. Dominic’s Hospital. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Philadelphia. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service at the church. McClain-Hays Funeral Home in Philadelphia is in charge of arrangements.
  • Paul Parker — died Monday at his home in Water Valley. Arrangements are incomplete with Seven Oaks Funeral Home of Water Valley.
  • Michael Tubbs — 67, died Monday at his home in Bruce. Arrangements are incomplete with Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce.
