It didn’t take Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze long to make a decision on athlete D.J. Law.
The speedster from Haines City, Fla., who signed with Ole Miss Wednesday, was released from his national letter of intent late this afternoon by Freeze. The statement was issued to the media that cover Ole Miss at 4:34. Law, who also signed with Utah Wednesday, is no longer a Rebel.
“Our compliance department is cooperating fully with the NLI office on this matter. We are completely certain no wrongdoing occurred by our coaching or compliance staff. Regardless of the outcome of the findings, we want the young man to attend the school he wants,” Freeze said in the release. “After talking with D.J. and his family, we are releasing him from his NLI and wish him the best. We have put this matter behind us and plan to make best use of that scholarship.”
Ole Miss now has 26 new members to its team without Law. (February 6, 2014)
