BLOG — Details on the arrest of Ole Miss cornerback Bobby Hill were made available Thursday afternoon.
Hill, 19, is facing a charge of sexual battery for an incident that allegedly happened Saturday off campus in the city limits.
According to the report, Chase Camp, a detective with the Oxford Police Department, was dispatched to the counseling center at Ole Miss regarding a sexual battery Sunday. Camp said he talked with the victim, a suspect and a witness on scene. The victim identified Hill and signed an affidavit for sexual battery. The report then states that Hill was notified and he turned himself in without incident Tuesday. The victim said in her statement the alleged sexual assault happened Saturday.
Camp says the investigation is still ongoing. Hill was detained in the Lafayette County Detention Center for almost six hours before bonding out Tuesday night. His bond was set at $10,000. Hill was suspended from Ole Miss Wednesday by coach Hugh Freeze for an indefinite amount of time. (January 30, 2014)
