Christmas parade rolls Monday

The annual Lions Club Christmas Parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday, starting from the Mid-Town Shopping Center, down North Lamar Boulevard, around the Square and up University Avenue, ending at the Gertrude Ford Center. Organizers are asking those attending the parade to consider other parking options than Mid-Town since it gets full quickly. (November 26, 2013, Page 1)

Yes, you can still be a part of the Christmas parade! Parade organizers encourage people with floats to register their float, but there is no registration fee. You can download a registration form at the chamber of commerce website at http://www.oxfordms.net.
However, you don’t have to register. Organizers say if you decide Monday that you want to be a part of the parade, you can just show up at the Mid-Town Shopping Center at North Lamar about an hour or so before the parade is scheduled to begin and you will be assigned a place in the parade. The parade is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday. If the weather is nasty on Monday, the parade will be held Tuesday. Hope this helps, but let us know if you need any additional assistance.
