VIDEO BLOG: Chargers roll past Clarksdale in 1-5A play

The fourth-ranked Oxford Chargers remained undefeated Friday night thanks to a 47-12 win over Clarksdale at Bobby Holcomb Field.The Chargers are now 9-0 overall and 5-0 in Region 1-5A play, a record that will allow them to be the No. 1 seed from the region when the MHSAA Class 5A playoffs begin next month. Oxford jumped out to another early lead Friday against the Wildcats and never let up.

Running back Kenzie Phillips added two more rushing touchdowns to his season total. Quarterback Jack Abraham threw two touchdown passes to D.K. Metcalf, who was back in action for the first time since the first quarter of the Lafayette game, while the OHS special teams unit garnered yet another touchdown off a punt.

Senior safety Conrey Meagher talks about Friday night’s big win and the focus for the Chargers moving forward, including ending the regular season with a perfect 11-0 mark.
