The Ole Miss baseball team picked up its first verbal commitment towards its 2016 signing class Monday evening with the pledge of Center Hill’s Grae Kessinger.
The Mustang is considered one of the top shortstops in his class and is the son of former Rebel Kevin Kessinger. He’s also Keith Kessinger’s nephew and Don Kessinger’s grandson.
As a freshman, at Center Hill last season, Kessinger hit .349 with a .468 on-base percentage and a .406 slugging percentage. He recorded 30 hits, 20 RBIs, five doubles and scored 26 times. He also swiped 13 bases.
Kessinger, along with Oxford’s Jason Barber, was named to MaxPreps.com’s 2013 Baseball Underclass All-American Team in July.
