Injured players dominated the discussion during the first two days of Ole Miss’ summer football drills. Junior wide receiver Vince Sanders suffered a broken collarbone during Saturday’s practice and will be out six weeks. He will undergo a surgery to repair the damage Tuesday.
Sanders, a starter at the Z wideout spot, was pulled to the ground by a teammate when there wasn’t supposed to be contact and players weren’t wearing shoulder pads.
Cornerback Anthony Standifer was engaged by Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze during Sunday’s practice after he tackled wide receiver Cody Core to the ground after Core caught a deep ball.
