Freeze, Harris discuss tight end position

VIDEO BLOG: The tight end position has been a rather fluid one for Ole Miss heading into the start of fall camp last week.

With the graduation of three seniors in Ferbia Allen, H.R. Greer and Jamal Mosley — coupled with the likely season-ending injury freshman Christian Morgan sustained in the spring — the position got thin in a hurry.

Following Thursday’s morning practice, both head coach Hugh Freeze and tight ends coach Maurice Harris discussed the position:

INJURY UPDATE: Cornerback Charles Sawyer (shoulder) returned to practice Thursday. He was held out of contact drills, but participated in the rest of practice after being limited to mostly conditioning work. Defensive tackle Issac Gross (groin) continues to participate in practice, while Freeze said defensive end Robert Nkemdiche (groin) is also coming along. Cornerback Senquez Golson (hamstring) continued to run Thursday and Freeze said he liked where the junior was at. Also: Freeze said freshman running back Kailo Moore (concussion) took “a lot” of carries during practice; he hopes offensive lineman Patrick Junen (back) returns next week; running back I’Tavius Mathers (ankle) is out of his boot.
