Parking commission nixes free tickets

The Downtown Parking Advisory Commission voted to recommend to the Board of Aldermen do away with the free courtesy tickets that have been handed out to first-time overtime parking offenders since Standard Parking took over parking management in November as a way to retain some revenue. The commission also reviewed two possible sites for a parking garage and discussed paid parking at their regular meeting Friday. (July 15, 2013, Page 1, 12)
