Rebs unsure how ’13 MLB Draft will hit

Heading into last year’s MLB Draft the Ole Miss Rebels had a pretty good idea who they would lose.

Louisiana standouts Stryker Trahan and Gavin Cecchini were near locks to go in the first round, as was Oklahoma right-hander Ty Hensley.

The assumptions proved correct: Cecchini went 12th overall to the New York Mets, Trahan was selected 26th by the Arizona Diamondbacks and Hensley went 30th to the New York Yankees.

How the 2013 MLB First-Year Players Draft, which starts today, will hit the Rebels’ signing class is a bit more unpredictable.
