DE Brown interested in Rebels

Florida International’s coaching change last December may end up benefiting Ole Miss on the football field in the coming weeks and years.

Defensive end Fadol Brown is looking for a new place to play after spending his freshman season at FIU, located in Miami, playing for Mario Cristobal, who was fired Dec. 5, 2012 before being hired by Nick Saban in February to be Alabama’s new offensive line coach.

The 6-foot-5 1/2, 271-pound Brown, a native of Charleston, S.C., originally thought he would spend a fall playing for Itawamba Community College and coach Jon Williams because of restrictions placed on him by FIU and its new coach, Ron Turner.
