Monday’s obituaries

  • J.C. “Curt” Daniels — 66, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at his home in Batesville. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville. Burial will follow in Forrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
  • George W. Lambert — 70, died this morning at Darlington Oaks Community Hospice in Verona. Arrangements are incomplete with Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford.
  • Ruby Mae Mathews — 78, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi. Services will be held at 3 this afternoon at the Peach Creek Baptist Church in Sardis. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service at the church. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home of Sardis is in charge of arrangements.
  • Ella Willene McCollum — 81, of Abbeville died Sunday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Arrangements are incomplete with Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford.
  • Esther Baker Mize — 85, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at her home in Oxford. Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at North Oxford Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 this evening at Waller Funeral Home in Oxford and for 30 minutes prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
  • Loyd M. Myles — 87, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, in the Golden Living Center in Batesville. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery in Enid. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
  • Herbert H. Nevitt — 85, died Thursday, May 16, 2013, in Oxford. The family has no plans for a memorial service at this time. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.
  • Julia Pettis Phillips — 66, died Saturday at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Arrangements are incomplete with Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc.
  • Margie Z. Taylor — 92, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at her home in Oxford. A graveside service was held this morning at Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Waller Funeral Home of Oxford was in charge of arrangements.
