OMS Lady Chargers finish second in Pontotoc

Oxford’s middle school girls track team finished second and produced seven nine-place finishes.

Alexis Williams won the discus, Jordan Freeze was first in the high jump, J’Shata Tyson was first in the shot, Margaret Pepper Adams was first in the 3,200 meter run, Tiara King took the 100 and 200.

The 4×200 relay team of King, Ally Shinall, Jakiara Dunn and Ann Marie Blackmon finished first. The 4×100 team of King, Niquisha Woodard, Calicia Zinn and Blackmon were first, while the 4×400 team of Arden Davis, Ansley Byers, Sylvia Culpepper and Dunn also finished first. Dunn finished second in the 400, while Anna Dennis was second in the 300 hurdles and third in the 110 hurdles. Zinn finished second to King in the 100. Byers was second in the triple jump. Jasmine Martin was third in the shot. Fourth-place finishes included Davis in the high jump and Davis in the 110 hurdles, Chiquita Sanders in the triple, Joanna Bu in the 1,600, Bhakti Patel in the 800 and Culpepper in the 400. Byers finished fifth in the long jump. Davis finished sixth in the 300 hurdles, Annie Forgette was sixth in the 800, while Rebecca Grazel Ward was sixth in the 3,200.
