No. 23 Rebels can’t get it done in Governor’s Cup

PEARL — The No. 23 Ole Miss Rebels could only live on the edge for so long.

Facing “arch rival” Mississippi State in the annual Governor’s Cup, Ole Miss’ pitchers repeatedly played with fire Tuesday night by allowing leadoff base runners.

After avoiding trouble through the first four innings, Ole Miss finally got burned when the Bulldogs broke a tie in the fifth and then plating two runs in the sixth to pave the way to a 5-1 victory at Trustmark Park.
