VIDEO BLOG — Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze was more upbeat about the way his offense performed in Saturday’s scrimmage, a day after the offense failed to generate much against the defense.Ole Miss held its final scrimmage prior to next Saturday’s annual Grove Bowl game at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. All three quarterbacks — Barry Brunetti, Maikhail Miller and Robert Ratliff led the offense for touchdowns during the scrimmage that lasted almost two hours.
Brunetti, who made key runs for first downs and also completed a 6-yard pass to Ja-Mes Logan during work in the red zone, felt like the offense did a good job of bouncing back from Friday where several players dropped passes or running backs couldn’t gather much running room.
“I thought it was much better today. I thought we did a great job of bouncing back like Coach Freeze wanted us to and Coach (Dan) Werner wanted us to. We buckled down and did good, we moved the ball well,” Brunetti said. “I thought I did some good things today but I still have to work on more of the little things that keep drives going.”
Below is a video of Freeze talking about Saturday’s scrimmage and his thoughts about the offense.
