Whitten whitewashes Lady Chargers

Friday night’s Crosstown Classic softball game with Oxford came down to the pitching of Lafayette’s Brooke Whitten. While the Lady Commodores got a couple of key insurance runs late in the 6-0 win, Whitten really didn’t need much help based on the effort she gave in the pitching circle.

Whitten only gave up two hits in the complete-game effort and no hits the final four frames. The Lady Chargers only had two runners left on base at the end of an inning because Whitten was able to retire 13 straight to end the contest.
