Paced by Aundrel Turner’s fantastic night at the plate, the Oxford Chargers won their fourth game in a row Monday night at Kossuth.
Turner collected two grand slams and nine RBIs as the Chargers defeated the Aggies 13-8. Turner finished the game with three hits overall, while the Chargers had 12 hits. Turner also had a double in the win. Jack McClure added a double, while Chadwick Lamar finished with two RBIs. Kossuth also committed four errors to aid Oxford around the bases. Pittman Phillips earned his first win on the mound for the Chargers. He pitched the first five innings of work and was given a big boost on offense from the start as OHS scored seven runs in the top of the first. Phillips allowed just two hits, one walk and two runs while striking out six. He also garnered the final out of the game. Tyler Hallam, Steven Whitfield and Will Christian also pitched for the Chargers. Oxford returns to action Friday at Lafayette.
