Normally quiet this time of year, there was a nervous anticipation that filled C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum Sunday.
With an estimated 3,000 fans on hand for Ole Miss’ viewing party, the Rebels watched anxiously as one by one NCAA Tournament first-round matchups were announced.
Finally, after more than a dozen this-could-be-it moments came and went, the Rebels (26-8 overall) learned their fate as the No.12 seed in the West Region, paired with No. 5 seed Wisconsin (23-11) in Kansas City on Friday.
