Oxford slams West Point on the road

Home court didn’t give West Point an advantage Thursday with the Oxford tennis team in town.

The Chargers rolled to a 7-0 win on the road to improve to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in Division 2-5A play. 

Will Swindoll took boys singles 6-0, 6-0 and Kara Rose took girls singles 6-2, 6-0. Robert Nance and Baxter Elliott claimed a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 boys doubles while Callan Shinall and Quinn Elliott took the No. 2 boys doubles point 6-0, 6-0.

In girls doubles, McClellan Davis and Grace Ann Jones won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1, while Madison Cobb and Emily Morgan picked up a 6-0, 6-0 point in No. 2 doubles. Embry Inman and Arlis Williams polished off the sweep with a 6-0, 6-0 victory in mixed doubles.
