Ole Miss senior infielder John Gatlin will be out for the year after fracturing his left foot. Gatlin said he was simply jogging during last Wednesday’s practice when he felt like he stepped on a rock. As it turns out, he somehow fractured the left side of his left foot and will have a screw inserted into his foot Wednesday.
Three to four weeks after that, Gatlin will have surgery to repair a separated shoulder that has kept him off the field this season.
