EAGLE Invitational set for Saturday at OHS

Prep track returns to the area Saturday with the annual Oxford EAGLE Invitational at Oxford’s Bobby Holcomb Field. This year’s field includes the Chargers and Lady Chargers, Lafayette’s Commodores and Lady Commodores as well as teams from Pontotoc, Cleveland-East Side, Independence and West Bolivar.

The meet will begin with field events and the 3,200-meter run at 10 a.m. West Bolivar features Ole Miss football signee Kailo Moore, who is scheduled to run in the 200 and 400. D.K. Buford, who just committed to play football for the Rebels, is scheduled to run in the 100 race, which is rare for Buford, who routinely plays baseball for the Commodores. All times are approximate after the start, but OHS boys coach Chris Bush said the 100 would run at 12:30 p.m. The 200 is scheduled to run at 2:30, while the 400 is expected to run at 1:30 or 2.
