CORINTH — Lafayette’s first trip to the MHSAA Class 4A North Half Tournament was shorter than coach Nacoma James and his Commodores were hoping for. Despite another strong effort on defense, the Commodores were unable to overcome a handful of empty possessions on offense late and some timely free-throw shooting by Noxubee County. The end result for the Commodores was a 55-52 setback to the Tigers, who will now play host Corinth tonight at 6 for the right to advance to Jackson.
