WATER VALLEY — Thursday night’s Division 2-3A Tournament game between the Water Valley Blue Devils and Aberdeen Bulldogs turned in the matter of seconds. A two-possession contest, one in which the Blue Devils were giving great effort in, was turned when Aberdeen benefited from a double technical call against Water Valley’s L.J. Hawkins.
After K.J. Lee cut Aberdeen’s lead to 37-32 with 57 seconds left in the third quarter, the Bulldogs were able to lead 44-32 at the end of the quarter thanks to five of six made free throws and an inside post move. The momentum garnered late in the period ended up carrying over into the fourth quarter and eventual 56-42 win over the host Blue Devils.
