The Lady Commodores didn’t quite close out their Division 2-4A slate like they wanted to Monday.
Shorthanded and unable to effectively battle 6-foot-3 Chelsea Mabry in the post, Lafayette fell to North Pontotoc 53-28 at the LHS gym.
With the win, NPHS secured third place in the region.
Lafayette (9-10 overall, 2-3 Region 2-4A) hoped to gain a measure of momentum from Monday’s meeting with the region tournament looming, but without the likes of Janae Westbrook, the home team was never able to really find a groove.
