The Lady Rebels rallied from a 35-27 halftime deficit to defeat in-state rival Mississippi State 65-51 at C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum.
The Valentines Day victory marks Ole Miss’ first against MSU in seven tries.
Ole Miss (9-15 overall, 2-9 SEC) came out of the break on the attack and soon used a 30-3 run to pull ahead of the visiting Lady Bulldogs (11-13, 3-8) for good.
Junior guard Valencia McFarland led Ole Miss with 19 points and eight rebounds. Tia Faleru earned her fourth double-double of the season after posting 11 points and 11 rebounds. Kenyotta Jenkins recorded 10 points, eight rebounds and a team-high three blocks.
Kendra Grant and Martha Alwal led MSU with 16 and 13 points respectively. The MSU duo each had 11 points at the half.
