Kennedy ready for ‘improved’ Bulldogs

This past week was one to forget for the Ole Miss men’s basketball team. Not only did the Rebels lose to both Kentucky and at No. 2 Florida, they lost reserve forward Aaron Jones for the season and senior Nick Williams for an unknown amount of time. Oh yeah, and the Rebels also dropped from No. 16 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll to out on Monday.

Ole Miss (17-4 overall, 6-2 in the Southeastern Conference) will be able to erase the pain of last week with a win over Mississippi State (7-13, 2-6) tonight at C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. and the game can be seen locally on CSS.

The Bulldogs are coming off a tough one-point loss to LSU and Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy felt like first-year coach Rick Ray had his team playing a lot better despite some recent setbacks.
