CANTON — Eight years after Solomon Bozeman led the Oxford Chargers to an improbable win over Shannon on the road in the first round of the MHSAA Class 4A playoffs, sophomore K.T. McCollins was able to lead this year’s group of Chargers to a huge road playoff win in the 5A playoffs.
McCollins’ steal and subsequent layup with 52 seconds broke a 43-43 tie with Canton and put the Chargers ahead for good. The end result of the hard-fought contest was a 50-45 win and a return to the 5A North Half Tournament for the first time since 2011.
