Kentucky’s Nerlens Noel made sure Ole Miss’ undefeated start to its Southeastern Conference schedule came to an abrupt end Tuesday night. The freshman center blocked a UK record 12 shots and was single handily the difference in the Wildcats’ 87-74 win over the No. 16 Rebels in front of a capacity crowd of 9,232 at C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum and a national TV audience watching via ESPN.
Noel didn’t hit a shot from the field and only finished with two points, but his shot blocking, especially late when the Rebels got within one point of the Wildcats, was sensational.
