The Lafayette Commodores emerged victorious in their matchup with the Ripley Tigers at home Tuesday night. LHS improved to 6-4 on the year with a 53-44 win that was paced by 16 points and 10 rebounds from Trey Shaw. Brandon Mack finished with 11 points and 14 rebounds, Montreal Nabors had nine points, while Joshua Barry had seven. The Lady Commodores weren’t as fortunate as they lost 61-49. The decisive quarter in that contest was the third as Ripley outscored LHS 19-12 after being up 25-21 at the break. Janae Westbrook led the Lady ‘Dores with 22 points. Brittany Tyson chipped in 10. The Commodores return to action Saturday in the North Pontotoc tournament against Houston at 3 p.m. (January 9, 2013, Page 6)
