AMORY — The Lafayette Lady Commodores may have gotten a glimpse of their future Thursday night.
Leading the home Amory Lady Panthers onto the pitch was senior Addie Forbus, a future Ole Miss soccer player fresh off setting the state’s career goal mark (228) last week.
Meanwhile, LHS freshman Ally Houghton, a soft-spoken sniper in her own right, appears poised to pick up where Forbus leaves off and make her own mark on the Magnolia State.
The two talented scorers didn’t disappoint in the MHSAA Class 4A first-round showdown, scoring four goals combined.
While Forbus’ Lady Panthers ended up winning the game 4-3, Lafayette head coach Melinda Scruggs couldn’t help but think about the future of a team that returns everyone.
