Lafayette earned a home sweep of Division 2-4A foe Lewisburg Friday night. The Lady Commodores ended a four-game losing streak with a 70-25 win over the Lady Patriots. The Commodores earned then earned their first division win with a hard-fought 46-41 triumph in the nightcap.
The Commodores (8-5 overall, 1-1 in 2-4A) used a great defensive effort to garner the win. Montreal Nabors led LHS with 16 points and four steals. Brandon Mack had 13 points and six rebounds, while Joshua Barry added 10 points and six rebounds. Coach Nacoma James said his squad did a great job of stepping up to the challenge of facing Lewisburg, which entered at the top of the division standings.
Up next for both teams is a road doubleheader at New Albany Tuesday. Action begins at 6 p.m. (January 28, 2013, Page 10)
