Chargers move into a tie for first place

Oxford moved into a tie for first place Tuesday night with a 65-62 win over Saltillo in the OHS gym.

The Chargers, now 2-2 in Division 2-5A, led 37-35 at the half and then held tight in the second to produce the win. Four Chargers scored in double figures, led by K.T. McCollins’ 17 points. Cortez Jones finished with 12 points, Nick Brown had 11, while Shelby McEwen scored 10 points. Both varsity teams return to action Friday at home against New Hope beginning with the girls game at 6 p.m. Oxford also hosts West Point Monday, Senior Night, beginning with a ninth-grade boys game at 5 p.m. (January 30, 2013, Page 8)
